Since 2019, the share of e-commerce in total sales of DIY and home improvement products in Europe has seen significant growth. This has been illustrated by Cross-Border Commerce Europe (CBCommerce.eu), a platform aiming to drive cross-border e-commerce in Europe, in its updated study “Top 50 DIY, Home & Garden Retail Europe 2025”.

In 2019, e-commerce accounted for 8.9 per cent of total sales, rising to 13.7 per cent by 2022. By 2025, the online share stood at 17 per cent. It is expected that by 2026, around a fifth of total sales will be generated by online sales.

The European online DIY market is estimated to be worth EUR 66 bn in 2025. For 2026, the online DIY market is valued at EUR 78 bn – representing a forecast increase of 19 per cent.
