The European non-food discounter Action increased its net sales to EUR 7.3 bn in the first six months of 2025. This represents an increase of 17.9 per cent compared to the same period last year. Like-for-like sales growth amounted to 6.8 per cent.

This is because the company opened 125 new stores during this period. At the middle of the year, it operated a total of 3,043 stores in 13 countries. In Germany, now Action's second-largest market after France, the 600th store was opened, and in Poland the 400th. The 3,000th store overall was opened in Italy at the beginning of June. In the year 2025, Action aims to add an average of at least one location per day to its store network, for a total of around 370 new locations.

The Dutch retailer is currently preparing to enter the Romanian market. The opening of the first store in Pitești in the south of the country is planned for 24 September 2025.
