Action is expanding. By 2026, the non-food discounter plans to open at least 400 new stores and enter two new markets: Croatia and Slovenia. A launch in Bulgaria is scheduled for 2027, and the retailer is preparing to enter the US market in late 2027 or early 2028. According to the company, this move is in response to growing customer demand.
The first store in Croatia opened on 11 March, with the second following eight days later. The first store in Slovenia is set to open after the summer. To support its expansion, Action will open new distribution centres in Italy, Spain and France in 2026.
Action explains that a study has identified clear potential in the US market. The company plans to open its first US branch in the south-east of the United States. By the end of 2030, 100 branches are set to open there. In preparation, Action is currently establishing a US organisation.
