The non-food discounter Action has increased its net turnover by 14 per cent in the first half-year compared with the same period last year, to EUR 8.3 bn; like-for-like turnover rose by 3.6 per cent. The retail group, which operates across Europe and is headquartered in the Netherlands, attributes this to higher customer footfall and price reductions. According to the figures, an average of 22.7 million customers visited the stores each week, representing a 12 per cent increase compared with the same period last year.
In the first six months of the year, Action expanded its network by 121 to 3,423 stores across 15 countries. The aim remains to add at least 400 new outlets by the end of 2026.
