René Haßfeld is leaving the German DIY store chain Toom Baumarkt on 31 July 2025. As Chairman of the Management Board, he has been at the helm of the Rewe subsidiary for seven years. According to a press release, he is leaving at his own request. Jochen Vogel has been set to succeed him on 1 July 2025.
Haßfeld has also been spokesman for the BHB Executive Board since November 2024. He has been a member of the Executive Board since 2018. He will also step down from his role on the association's Executive Board. BHB Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Spokesman Peter Abraham will take over as acting BHB Spokesman on 1 August 2025 until the association's general meeting on 25 November decides on a replacement.
