The son has to take a break for health reasons, and the father returns from retirement to head the company: this dramatic turn of events is currently unfolding at Globus Baumarkt, Germany's sixth-largest DIY store chain. Timo Huwer, spokesman for the Globus Baumarkt management board since 2020, is stepping down from operational business for an extended period, and his father Erich Huwer has rejoined the management board of the DIY chain, which he built up from 1982 onwards. He has taken over the position of management spokesman on an interim basis and is managing Globus Baumarkt together with Pia Frey and Gerald Neumayr. Globus Baumarkt generated sales of EUR 1.992 bn in 2024 with 90 stores.
