Dachser has exceeded the 8 billion mark (EUR 8.027 bn) with a 13 percent increase in revenue in 2024. The European Logistics business line increased its revenue by 8.1 percent to around EUR 4.8 billion. The logistics provider is convinced that this growth is largely the result of the acquisitions of Dachser & Fercam Italia, Frigoscandia, and Brummer, which will be reported in the balance sheet for the first time in 2024. The company also sees its resilient European groupage network as a driver for this. In purely organic terms, i.e., excluding acquisitions, Dachser grew by 4.7 percent compared to the previous year. The number of shipments increased by 6.5 percent, while tonnage rose by 2.8 percent.
The workforce (+3,300), number of locations (+56), and warehouse spaces (+720,000) also increased compared to the previous year. Dachser doubled its spending on company acquisitions, network locations, employees, digitalisation, and climate protection measures last year to around EUR 490 mio compared to the previous year. A further investment of almost EUR 400 mio in the network is planned for 2025.
"High costs, weak industrial production, and a decline in private consumption have also affected our business. At the same time, the many crises we are facing around the world today have been an ongoing stress test for us and our customers," said CEO Burkhard Eling. He expects 2025 to be another very challenging year for logistics, with only limited growth momentum coming out of Europe. "We will focus more on strengthening our presence in the Americas and Asia and connecting these markets to our European groupage network," said Eling.
