Double-digit growth continues at Bunnings

The sales of the home improvement division of the Australian Wesfarmers Group, which operates the Bunnings chain in Australia and New Zealand, came to AUD 2.594 bn between January and March. This equates to an 11.0 per cent increase over the same period in 2015, while store-on-store growth was 8.3 per cent. In the first three quarters of fiscal 2015/2016 (ends 30 June 2016), sales amount to AUD 8.090 bn, 10.9 per cent more than in the same period last year.
Sales by the British DIY chain Homebase, which was acquired by Wesfarmers on 27 February 2016, have not been included in the figures as there is no meanngful comparable information for the 33 days of ownership within the reporting period.
