Brico Dépôt is to become Brico in Romania. This has been announced by the parent company, Altex. The Romanian retail group acquired the DIY chain from the British Kingfisher Group in 2025. It is regarded as the retail market leader in the electrical goods, household appliances and IT sectors in Romania.

According to a post on LinkedIn, the company plans to invest 50 million euros in the transformation of Brico over the next three years. This will focus on stores, product ranges, services, technology, the online sector and artificial intelligence. Brico has unveiled "Do it together" as its new slogan
