DIY stores in France recorded a further decline in turnover in 2025. Their turnover of EUR 21.823 bn was 1.4 per cent below the previous year’s level, but remains above pre-pandemic levels. This marks the third consecutive year of decline. Without online sales, the decline would have been even steeper. In e-commerce, DIY stores achieved a 7.7 per cent increase compared to the previous year, whilst their brick-and-mortar business fell by 1.9 per cent. As a result, e-commerce now accounts for 6.2 per cent of total turnover. These figures were published by the French industry associations FMB (retail) and Inoha (manufacturers).

Only two product categories saw growth in 2025. The heating and air conditioning category grew by 3.3 per cent. This was driven in particular by air conditioning units and fans, which saw an 18 per cent increase. The electrical goods category also saw growth, rising…
