Home Depot will have to manage without its chief for a while. Ted Decker, President and CEO, is to take a temporary medical leave of absence, the US DIY retailer has announced. The company expects Decker to return within the next few months.

In his absence, two long-serving executives from the company will oversee the operations of the office of the CEO: Ann-Marie Campbell, senior Executive Vice President, will provide oversight of Home Depot's day-to-day operations, while Richard McPhail, EVP and Chie Financial Officer, will provide oversight of the company's financial management and Pro subsidiaries. In his role as independent lead director, Greg Brenneman will chair the board during Decker's leave.
