The Home Depot, the world’s largest DIY retailer, is restructuring its organisation. The aim is to strengthen the core business and corporate culture, improve the customer experience and attract professional customers, emphasises Ted Decker, Chairman, President and CEO of Home Depot, in a press release.

To this end, the company is merging key management functions across the merchandising, customer loyalty, finance, professional business and technology segments:

Home Depot has integrated its private label sales teams into the core merchandising organisation, which is led by Billy Bastek, Executive Vice President (EVP) of Merchandising. The company hopes this will lead to better product alignment.

The DIY retailer is also consolidating its teams for customer experience, online business, financial services and loyalty programmes into a single, integrated organisational unit headed by Jordan Broggi, EVP for Connected Retail.

Home Depot is transforming its "Office of Integration" into the "Office of Pro Acceleration", led by Richard McPhail, EVP and Chief Financial Officer, to drive the company-wide growth strategy for the Pro sector. This team is tasked with driving coordination between Home Depot Pro, HD Supply, SRS and Construction Resources to further develop shared corporate capabilities.

Earlier this year, the company appointed Fran Bell as EVP and Chief Technology Officer, bringing together AI, data science, product management, user experience and technology into a unified organisation. As part of the reorganisation, the technology teams for stores, the supply chain and Pro products will be integrated into Bell’s remit.
