Kingfisher CEO Thierry Garnier is leaving the company. He is moving to the Dutch food retail group Ahold Delhaize as President and CEO. Shareholders still have to approve the move. The Frenchman, who also holds British citizenship, has led the British DIY group as CEO for almost seven years.
According to Ahold Delhaize, Garnier is expected to succeed Frans Muller around the time of the Annual General Meeting in April 2027. Muller has held this position since July 2018.
Kingfisher’s board of directors has a well-prepared succession plan in place, and the search for a successor is already underway, the statement continues. Both internal and external candidates are being considered.
