The Austrian group Würth Hochenburger joined the German Hagebaumarkt franchise system with its eight DIY stores on 1 January 2026. The eight locations will be gradually converted to the Hagebaumarkt system over the course of the year.

This significantly strengthens Hagebau's presence in the Austrian DIY retail sector, the company confirms in a press release. "With the eight new locations in Tyrol and Salzburg, we are sustainably expanding our market position in Austria and continuing our growth course," says Torsten Kreft, Managing Director of Hagebau Austria.

Othmar Lutz, CEO of Würth Hochenburger, comments: "The Hagebaumarkt system creates the framework conditions for us to further develop our DIY store locations in a targeted manner. It offers us the necessary flexibility to maintain regional strengths while benefiting from the advantages of cooperation."
