The global industry initiative Make It Zero is hosting a virtual Make It Zero Supplier Summit on 18 March 2026. Not only are retailers and manufacturers already participating in the initiative invited, but also anyone interested from the international DIY and gardening industry. Participation is free of charge, and the summit will take place from 11:00 to 14:00 GMT.

The Make It Zero initiative was launched by the international DIY association Edra/Ghin with the support of the manufacturers' association Hima and aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the entire industry.

"This is a must attend event that will introduce important developments for suppliers and highlight a new sector-wide approach to emission reduction, data-sharing and a new ambition to drive low-carbon and circular materials," heißt es in der Einladung. "Scope 3 decarbonisation relies upon close collaboration between retailers and suppliers and we are hosting a summit to introduce Make It Zero and to share some of the exciting developments and practical support on offer to help your suppliers."

The event, the initiative will officially launch two major initiatives co developed with the members to support supplier engagement and accelerate climate action across the sector: "The Supplier Engagement Standard" and "The Plastics Low-Carbon & Circular Ambition".

In a letter, Edra Managing Director John Herbert asks the association's members to bring the summit to the attention of their suppliers. In it, he strongly promotes the initiative's cause: "Are we winning with this initiative? Yes, we are, but still need your support! So please also invite as many of your suppliers as possible to this unique event, a real milestone in our ambition to decarbonise our sector."
