The cooperation between French DIY group Mr. Bricolage and British Kingfisher Group is becoming more concrete: Mr. Bricolage is testing a selection of Kingfisher's own brands and converting one of its stores into a franchisee of Kingfisher's Brico Dépôt retail chain for the first time.
The own brandl test is set to start next year. The Kingfisher products will complement the current offering. Mr. Bricolage's own brand Inventiv will continue to be available. The conversion of a Mr. Bricolage store to Brico Dépôt involves a single location that meets very specific criteria for this concept, according to a press release.
In addition to the Brico Dépôt brand, Kingfisher operates the Castorama retail chain in France. In 2023, the British group founded a joint subsidiary with Mr. Bricolage for procurement tasks under the name Unio.
