The Malaysian retail chain Mr. DIY is on the verge of entering the markets in Hungary and the Czech Republic. The Malaysian Embassy in Hungary has posted a report from the Daily News Hungary dated 5 October 2026, which states that Mr. DIY is preparing to open its first Hungarian branch in the Köki shopping centre in Budapest. Staff recruitment is reportedly in full swing. No specific opening date has been given.
On LinkedIn, Mr. DIY’s Czech national organisation has announced an opening at the Forum Nová Karolína shopping centre in Ostrava, in the east of the country.
