The German cleaning specialist Kärcher increased its sales to EUR 3.483 bn in 2025, representing growth of 1.1 per cent (3.2 per cent adjusted for currency effects) compared to the previous year. The family-owned company generates 86 per cent of its sales abroad. The group is currently represented by 170 companies in 87 countries and employs 17,000 people worldwide.

Increasing trade barriers such as customs duties and local subsidies, high price pressure, especially from Chinese manufacturers, but also structural and regulatory hurdles have significantly slowed growth, the company reported. The cleaning market has recently been in decline, characterised by reluctance to buy among commercial customers, although there has been an increase in parts of the consumer segment.
