Winnenden-based Kärcher, a manufacturer of cleaning equipment, is taking legal action against Tennant, an American competitor. According to Kärcher, Tennant’s sales message that the company’s new ec-H20 scrubber, which uses electrically converted water, cleans just as well or even better than traditional equipment using detergents, is misleading. “We aim to make Tennant withdraw their advertising messages, which are misleading customers,” says Kärcher’s spokesman Ulrich Schumacher. This was countered by Tennant’s Kathryn Lovik, who announced that “Tennant’s belief in the technology of electrically activated water is backed up by its own test results and analyses by third parties.”
