The DIY chain Bauhaus, market leader in Germany, has entered into a strategic partnership with French start-up Mirakl to build its online marketplace. The marketplace went live in August 2025. With the help of the technology provided by Mirakl, Bauhaus will expand its range with thousands of additional products from third-party sellers, explains the online specialist.

Founded in 2012, the company is considered a so-called unicorn, i.e. a start-up valued at more than USD 1 billion. Its customers in the DIY sector include the French market leader Leroy Merlin and its competitor Castorama, the British market leader B&Q (both Kingfisher Group) and the Australian market leader Bunnings.
