The DIY stores of the German Hornbach Group increased their net sales in the first quarter (1 March to 31 May 2025) of the financial year by 5.8 percent to EUR 1.9092 bn. The higher growth came from markets outside Germany, which increased their sales by 6.9 per cent to EUR 940.9 mio. Adjusted for store and currency effects, sales here rose by 5.9 per cent. However, there was also a significant increase of 4.7 per cent in Germany, where sales amounted to EUR 870.0 mio. On a comparable basis, sales rose by 3.4 per cent.
The company has made a very good start to the 2025/2026 financial year, “thanks in part to the consistently good weather, which had a positive impact on demand for gardening products and building materials,” says Erich Harsch, CEO of Hornbach Baumarkt AG.
