Home Depot increases sales by 9.4 per cent

Home Depot today reported sales of USD 39.9 bn for the first quarter of fiscal 2025, an increase of 9.4 per cent compared to the same quarter last year. Comparable sales decreased 0.3 per cent, while comparable sales in the U.S. increased 0.2 per cent. Exchange rates had a negatively impacted total company comparable sales.

"Our first quarter results were in line with our expectations as we saw continued customer engagement across smaller projects and in our spring events," said Ted Decker, chair, president and CEO.

At the end of the first quarter, the company operated a total of 2,350 stores across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, 10 Canadian provinces and Mexico.

Fiscal 2025 Guidance

The company also reaffirms its guidance for fiscal 2025, a 52-week year compared to fiscal 2024, a 53-week year. Home Depot expects a total sales growth of approximately 2.8 per cent and a comparable sales growth of around 1.0 per cent for the comparable 52-week period. The company also plans to open approximately 13 new stores.
