Around ten months after the start of construction, Bauhaus has opened its fourth location in Slovenia. The new store is located in the seaport city of Koper and will offer customers DIY, renovation and decoration products on a sales area of around 15,800 m², as the company announced in a press release.
One of the highlights is the largest "Stadtgarten" (that's the name Bauhaus uses for its affiliated garden departmentsin) in the Adriatic region: a large selection of plants for gardens and balconies as well as the tools and utensils needed to care for them are offered on over 4,800 m². Special attention was also paid to the outdoor living area: The range includes gazebos, outdoor kitchens, barbecues in all shapes and sizes, lighting for the garden and outdoor furniture. The tile department is also praised in the press release, offering a selection of over 350 alternative tiles that are clearly presented.
Customers can either use the car park with 250 parking spaces - which is equipped with ten electric charging stations - or load the products directly from the shelves into their cars in the approximately 2,800 m² drive-in arena. The new store also offers the "Reserve & Collect" service: The desired products can be reserved online in advance and collected from the store a short time later.
To generate sustainable electricity, the new Bauhaus is equipped with a comprehensive photovoltaic system with a capacity of 1 MW. In addition, all equipment that moves goods, such as forklift trucks, is powered by electricity.
