The French barbecue market shrank by 6.9 per cent to a volume of EUR 227 mio in 2022, after a 12 per cent increase in the previous year. At the same time, sales of charcoal appliances remained largely stable in 2022 with a minus of 1 per cent. These figures have been published by the market research company GfK. The plancha segment, which is important in France, lost 4.3 per cent. In contrast, the gas barbecue segment lost 16.6 per cent in sales. Sales of electric barbecues fell by 5.5 per cent.
