Austrian DIY stores increased their sales by 4.2 per cent year-on-year to EUR 3.17 bn in 2022. In the period from 2019 to 2022, the average annual growth was 5.8 per cent, significantly higher than the average of 2.9 per cent in the years from 2016 to 2018. These figures from the GfK Total Store Report Austria were published by the German industry association BHB. The largest single segment, construction chemicals/building materials, with a volume of EUR 471 mio, grew by 5.0 per cent. The weakest development was in the product group for garden chemicals/soil/seeds, which was down by 5.2 per cent compared with the previous year.
