Japanese home improvement group DCM reported sales of JPY 114 024 mio (EUR 806.5 mio) in the first quarter of its 2022/2023 financial year (March to May 2022). This is 5.2 per cent less than the same period last year. This is stated in a press release on the quarterly report.
As reported by the international industry association Edra/Ghin, DCM has entered into a capital and business alliance with regional home improvement retailer Kanseki. Kanseki operates mainly in Tochigi Prefecture, where DCM does not operate any stores.
DCM plans to acquire 6.8 per cent of Kanseki's voting rights by subscribing to a third-party allotment of treasury stock. The amount of acquisition is approximately JPY 900 mio (EUR 6.4 mio).
