The two sales channels Wickes and Toolstation, which together form the consumer division of the British trading company Travis Perkins, have achieved a sales growth of 4.4 per cent in the first quarter. Like-for-like sales have grown by 2.9 per cent. The company explains this slowed rate by the timing of Easter, which fell in the second quarter in 2017, but in the first in 2016. But according to the company, the underlying performance of both Wickes and Toolstation remains strong, with particularly good growth in the Wickes showroom offer, multichannel sales and the continued network expansion of both Wickes and Toolstation.
