Dr Karsten Hoppe (45) was appointed as the new CEO of MTD Products AG, the parent company of Wolf-Garten, on 1 January 2017. He replaces the interim CEO Udo Janetzki, who had been filling the post temporarily since 1 June 2016 following the departure of Dr Stefan Hoetzl.
Hoppe has arrived from Hilti, where he worked as part of the management team for three years and was responsible for marketing in Central Europe. Now heading up business in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Hoppe is part of the triumvirate at the helm of the European head office of the American family-owned firm MTD together with his colleagues on the board, Günter Korn and Dr Michael Simon.
MTD Products is a supplier of garden tools and markets the Cub Cadet, Wolf-Garten and MTD brands. It has four manufacturing plants in Europe and sells its products in 27 countries here.
