Kesko can go ahead with the acquisition of Onninen

The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) has approved the acquisition of Onninen by Kesko as regards Finland. The permission does not contain any conditions, Kesko reported. The acquisition is yet subject to the approval of the EU Commission as regards the other countries included in the arrangement, namely Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. Onninen's steel business and Russian subsidiary are not included in the acquisition.
The Finnish trading group Kesko announced that the new trading entity will offer full building and technical trade selections for both business and consumer customers. With the acquisition, Kesko's business in HEPAC (heating, plumbing and air conditioning) and electrical product groups will expand significantly.
