The Finnish Kesko Group's building and home improvement trade division achieved growth of 11.0 per cent in the first half of the year, with net sales of EUR 1.2114 bn. This increase is attributable to acquisitions. During the half-year period, the Danish companies Roslev Trælasthandel A/, CF Petersen & Søn A/S and Tømmergaarden A/S were acquired. Comparaple sales grew by 3.4 per cent.
Kesko is active in the home improvement sector with several distribution chains in the Nordic countries. In its home market of Finland, it operates K-Rauta, in Sweden K-Bygg, in Norway Byggmakker and in Denmark Davidsen. The Senukai joint venture has stores in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and holds a stake in the Oma chain in Belarus.
