Rona achieves 3.1 per cent growth in same-store sales

19.02.2016

With sales revenues of CAD 4.2333 bn, the Canadian DIY market leaderRona achieved a 3.3 per cent plus last year. This growth rate reflects a 7.8 per cent increase in the retail segment, stemming mainly from 3.1 per cent growth in same-store sales and the acquisition of the franchised stores.
Robert Sawyer, president and CEP of Rona, announced in a statement about the results for 2015, that there would be "a complete concept review of our Rona big-box store network". The reason for this is the repositioning of the Réno-Dépôt and Totem banners. "The purpose of this initiative is to leverage the expansion of this key business segment following the acquisition of the 20 franchised stores, primarily by stimulating sales through the introduction of new product lines and renewed customer experience."
