Despite third-quarter drop

Rona in the black after nine months

17.11.2015

The Canadian DIY store chain Rona, which also operates the Réno-Dépôt and Totem distribution channels, increased its sales in the first nine months of this year by 2.3 per cent to CAD 3.1985 bn. Of this figure, CAD 2.3037 bn is attributable to the retail operations of the central office, which increased by 4.4 per cent, and CAD 894.7 mio to its wholesale arm, which recorded a drop of 2.7 per cent.
Rona's sales declined by 0.9 per cent in all in the third quarter. The reason for this was a fall of 6.9 per cent in sales by the wholesale arm. This decline was a result in turn of the acquisition of 20 franchise stores by the central office.
