The advertising campaign being run jointly in France by the Comité National pour le Développement du Bois (CNDB) and the Nordic Timber Council (NTC) will be launched on TV in November. The first TV spot of the joint 2004 Nordic-French campaign will be shown about a hundred times on the screens of France 2, France 3, France 5 and Canal+. “TV advertising is the best way of catching people’s eyes quickly,” reasons NTC managing director Jan Söderlind. “Obviously it is important to get off to a good, attention-grabbing start. But Nordic Timber Council and our campaign, “Le bois, c’est essentiel!” (“Wood is what it’s all about”), are not looking just for short-term effects but want to change consumer habits in the long term. Which is why we have to make use of other communication channels as well.” These will include advertisements in the print media, newsletters, communication kits and educational events during the first year of the joint campaign, which is scheduled for the period from 2004 to 2006. The start-up date for advertisements is 29 October 2004.
