Shutdown affects Home Pro in Thailand and Malaysia

The shutdown in Thailand since 22 March and in Malaysia since 18 March is significantly affecting business for in the Thai chain Home Pro. For the time being, the company has had to close 66 Home Pro stores and seven Mega Home stores in Thailand and all six Home Pro stores in Malaysia. Their marketing has since been concentrating on e-commerce activities including shop4you, click & collect, and same-day and next-day delivery.

However that has not been able to compensate for the dropping sales. In the first quarter, Home Pro made THB 14.546 bn (EUR 413 mio) and thus 6.14 per cent less sales than in the same quarter of the previous year. However, there was still an increase in service income under "Home Service", writes the company in its quarterly report.
