Ace Hardware stores in the US have closed the second quarter of 2026 (ending 4 July 2026) with a slight increase in turnover. This is according to a press release from the cooperative of independent hardware retailers. The release states that the approximately 4,000 stores that regularly report their daily sales achieved a total like-for-like growth of 1.1 per cent. This was driven by a 3.1 per cent increase in average basket size, which was, however, offset by a 1.9 per cent decline in the number of transactions. Ace Hardware reports e-commerce growth of 12.8 per cent in the second quarter.
The 268 stores managed directly by the subsidiary Ace Retail Group generated sales of USD 280.7 mio (EUR 243.0 mio) in the second quarter. This was 2.1 per cent higher than in the same period last year. On a like-for-like basis, the increase was 0.4 per cent.
