From 1 July 2026, Michel Salaün will take up the post of General Secretary at the international DIY trade association Edra/Ghin. He will succeed the co-founder and current Secretary-General, John W. Herbert.

Michel Salaün (64) holds degrees in economics and business administration from France and Austria. He began his career in the French Foreign Service and in corporate banking before moving to Metro C&C. Salaün subsequently spent 26 years at ADEO, one of the world’s leading companies in the DIY sector, where he held various key positions in France and internationally, focusing primarily on strategy and development.

Salaün was also deeply committed to Edra/Ghin and its development. He was one of four people present at the founding of Edra in 2002, where he represented the French DIY trade association FMB, and supported countless branch visits, study trips, as well as networking and…
