DIY stores in Italy recorded growth in the gardening sector during the first quarter of 2026: overall, they generated turnover of EUR 130.6 mio, an increase of 8.3 per cent compared with the first three months of 2025. These figures were published by the organisers of the Italian trade event Bricoday (23 and 24 September, Fiera Milano Rho) based on NielsenIQ surveys.
Strong growth was seen in particular in the plant care segment (+18 per cent), living greenery, and garden landscaping and equipment (+12 per cent). Irrigation and cleaning systems also saw growth (+13 per cent), driven by a greater focus on water conservation and the efficient management of outdoor spaces. The power garden sector recorded a 10 per cent increase.
