Ikea expands trial of home improvement app

Ikea is expanding its trial of home improvement and repair services in Spain. The Ikea Home Services app has been available in the Spanish capital, Madrid, since September 2024, and in Barcelona since 2025. Using the AI-powered app, customers can search for services, make enquiries, be matched with tradespeople, compare quotes, read reviews, and book and pay for 50 different services. In March 2026, renovation services, such as kitchen and bathroom renovations, were added.

To date, the app has recorded more than 500,000 downloads and 21,000 service enquiries. Since its launch, 57,000 new or reactivated members of the IKEA Family loyalty programme have been registered. In May 2026, the app was rolled out to the five regions of Málaga, Alicante, Valencia, Almería and Murcia.
