The Husqvarna Group’s targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions have been validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), an organisation dedicated to corporate climate action that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to contribute to the fight against the climate crisis. This confirms that the Group’s targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions are consistent with the SBTi criteria for net-zero emissions, according to a press release.

The validation covered both the Husqvarna Group’s net-zero target and its updated short-term target, and encompasses greenhouse gas emissions in the Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 categories. In accordance with the SBTi validation, Husqvarna AB commits to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2050 and to reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions in Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 60.28 per cent by 2030 and by 90.0 per cent by 2050 compared to the base year 2015. This includes direct emissions from the Group’s own operations, indirect emissions from purchased energy, and the most significant categories of emissions in the value chain, which account for the majority of the Husqvarna Group’s climate impact.
