DIY stores in Italy failed to quite match their turnover figures from the first quarter of 2026. Overall, they generated EUR 1.3847 bn in turnover, which is 0.8 per cent less than in the first three months of 2025. These figures were published by the organisers of the Italian trade event Bricoday (23 and 24 September 2026, Fiera Milano Rho) based on NielsenIQ surveys.
The household appliances sector (large and small appliances) recorded the highest gains; according to the data, it achieved double-digit growth. The gardening sector grew by 8 per cent. The automotive and electrical sectors are also on an upward trend.
In contrast, some traditional sectors are showing signs of weakness. The sharpest decline is in timber (-8 per cent). Lighting is also shrinking (-5 per cent).
