Swiss parquet market remains in the doldrums

In Switzerland, the parquet market contracted for the fourth consecutive year in 2025, according to data from a study by the market research institute Branchenradar. The study shows that manufacturers’ revenues fell by 2.9 per cent year-on-year in 2025 to CHF 134.7 mio. "Once again, this was due to the slump in new housing construction," says study author Veronika Beitel. "If the renovation sector hadn’t propped up the market, the decline would have been a good 5 per cent," she emphasises.

Turnover fell year-on-year across all product groups, with the exception of wide-plank flooring (long-plank parquet). Sales of this "best-seller" of recent years were 3.4 per cent higher than the previous year. Beitel notes that long-plank parquet now accounts for more than half of all turnover. Solid wood floors were under particular pressure, contributing only around 5 per cent to total revenue.
