The Chinese e-commerce platform Temu has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Swiss SME Association (SKV), an organisation representing small and medium-sized enterprises. The new partners intend to work this year and next on a programme aimed at supporting Swiss companies with digitalisation and online sales. This also includes the exchange of information and case studies from Swiss companies that are already selling online, according to a press release from Temu.

The SKV, based in Hünenberg, states that it has around 9,000 member companies, which together employ some 40,000 staff. Temu entered the Swiss market in May 2023 and, according to its own account, has since become one of the country’s ten largest e-commerce platforms. In September 2025, the company opened its marketplace to local sellers in Switzerland.

Many Swiss SMEs are not yet fully exploiting the opportunities offered by online retail, says SKV President Roland M. Rupp. He says: "Together with Temu, we want to break down barriers and support companies in making their products more easily accessible to a wider customer base. This partnership is a concrete contribution to strengthening the competitiveness of our SMEs."
