Bauhaus plans to process e-commerce orders in the Nordic countries using the ship-from-store model in future. To this end, the German DIY market leader has entered into a partnership with the service provider N-Shift (nShift). This follows a pilot project in which 200,000 orders were processed via this system. According to nShift, Bauhaus now expects around 750,000 online orders to be dispatched via nShift Delivery in the Nordic countries by 2026.

Bauhaus operates stores in the region in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Thanks to the delivery management platform provided by nShift, each branch can act as a local dispatch point for online orders.

The service provider describes the benefits as follows: the ‘ship-from-store’ approach enables Bauhaus to shorten delivery routes, improve availability and make better use of stock already present in the branches. Orders can be processed more…
