Home improvement sales decline in the United States

The home improvement trade in the United States recorded a decline in sales in the first ten months of 2025. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the industry, which is listed in the official statistics as building material and garden equipment and supplies dealers (NAICS 444, North American Industry Classification), generated sales of USD 406.038 bn (EUR 347,483 bn), 1.4 per cent less than in the same period last year. In October, sales amounted to USD 42.407 bn (EUR 36,291 bn), 5.1 per cent below the figure for October 2024.
