The French retail group Samse recorded a significant decline in sales in its DIY store business in the third quarter. Its 37 DIY stores, which operate under the L’entrepôt du Bricolage brand, generated sales of EUR 90.3 mio between July and September, down 7.7 per cent on the same period last year. In the first three quarters, sales amounted to EUR 281.2 mio, representing a decline of 6.4 per cent.
The building materials trade also performed poorly in the third quarter, with a decline of 5.9 per cent. However, due to strong growth in the first quarter, the growth curve remains positive at 2.9 per cent (EUR 1.180 bn).
