Revenue for the Swedish DIY store group Byggmax fell in the third quarter. At SEK 1.949 bn (EUR 178.8 mio), it was 0.8 per cent below the corresponding figure for the previous year. Adjusted for floor space, the decline was 0.2 per cent.
However, growth remained steady for the nine months from January to September. During this period, the group generated SEK 5.077 bn (EUR 465.7 mio) in sales, up 3.3 per cent on the same period last year. Adjusted for floor space, sales actually rose by 4.4 per cent.
The trend in Sweden was much better than in neighbouring countries. There, sales fell by 4.7 per cent to SEK 508 mio (EUR 46.6 mio) in the third quarter, while in Sweden there was an increase of 0.7 per cent to SEK 1.460 bn (EUR 134.0 mio).
