The Swedish DIY store group Byggmax has started the year with a fall in turnover in the first quarter. Total turnover of SEK 880 million (EUR 81 million) was 5.3 per cent lower than in the same period last year. On a like-for-like basis, turnover also fell by 5.3 per cent. Currency effects had a negative impact of 0.7 per cent. In Sweden (SEK 632 million, EUR 58 million), the decline was 5.3 per cent, whilst in the other countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway), net turnover fell by 5.0 per cent.
