Hornbach grows primarily abroad in the second quarter

Hornbach Baumarkt AG, which consolidates the Hornbach Group's retail business, increased its net sales in the second quarter by 3.4 per cent year-on-year to EUR 1.5928 bn. In Germany, the increase was 0.9 per cent, while in the expansion countries it was 5.8 per cent. Adjusted for floor space, Hornbach's DIY store sales rose by 2.4 per cent.

For the first six months of the 2025/2026 financial year, i.e. for the months of March to August, Hornbach reported DIY store sales of EUR 3.4036 bn, an increase of 4.7 per cent compared with the first half of 2024/2025.

Adjusted for floor space and currency effects, sales rose by 3.6 per cent. As of 31 August 2025, the company operated 172 DIY stores and garden centres as well as online shops in nine European countries.

In Germany, the DIY store subgroup's half-year sales rose by 2.9 per cent to EUR 1.6115 bn; with like-for-like sales up 1.5 per cent. Sales outside Germany rose by 6.4 per cent to EUR 1.7922 bn, or 5.6 per cent on a like-for-like and currency-adjusted basis. The international share of sales increased to 52.7 per cent.

The share of online sales (including Click & Collect) in the total sales of Hornbach DIY stores rose to 13.1 per cent in these six months. Compared with the same period last year, online sales increased by 10.2 per cent to EUR 447.3 mio.
