After establishing itself in the southern and central parts of Europe, Malaysian home goods company Mr. DIY is headed west of the continent with sights set on Germany’s capital city. According to Mr. DIY Malaysia chief operating officer Leo Gan, the retailer, whose European presence was established in Spain and expanded to Poland, is exploring opportunities to open in Berlin by 2026.
“[We] just completed our first survey visit to Berlin - a city full of energy, history, and retail inspiration. As we explore opportunities to bring Mr. DIY here next year, we walked through malls, high streets, and vibrant neighborhoods, gathering insights into Germany’s dynamic non-food discount market,” he wrote in an announcement posted on LinkedIn.
