Hornbach opened its first DIY and garden centre in the Austrian region Burgenland last Friday. Covering an area of 16,175 m², it offers everything for DIY enthusiasts, gardening enthusiasts and professionals, while also creating around 100 new jobs in the region, as the retailer emphasises. A photovoltaic system, an air heat pump, rainwater harvesting and roof and green space concepts ensure that the building is operated in a resource-efficient manner.

"The opening also underlines the importance of the Austrian market for Hornbach," explained Erich Harsch, CEO of Hornbach Baumarkt AG, at the ceremony. "It is also the first store with a drive-in in the region," added Peter Eberdorfer, Managing Director of Hornbach Austria. In addition to services such as online wood cutting, paint mixing and delivery to your car, Hornbach in Eisenstadt offers a wide range of aquatics and pet supplies.
